Veterans Day event at Jack Rose Dining Saloon to benefit Coalition to Salute America’s Heroes
The Jack Rose Dining Saloon is hosting a special “Night to Salute Heroes” this Veterans Day to remember, honor and support the brave men and women who have served in the U.S. Armed Forces to protect our nation’s freedoms.
Specifically, Wednesday evening, Nov. 11, will be dedicated to raising funds for the Coalition to Salute America’s Heroes, a leading not-for-profit organization dedicated to rebuilding the lives of severely wounded veterans of the global War on Terror.
Beginning at 6:30 p.m., the saloon will host a rare whiskey tasting in its exclusive speakeasy-style basement whiskey bar. Multiple high-end whiskeys will be showcased and sampled during the event.
“This isn’t just any whiskey we’re talking about; these are some of the most exquisite whiskeys you’ll find anywhere,” said Bill Thomas, owner of the Jack Rose Dining Saloon, a premier Washington, DC, establishment. “We invite every whiskey lover in the area to come by and help us support our nation’s combat-wounded heroes while enjoying a truly rare and intimate experience.”
The Night to Salute Heroes continues at 8:30 p.m. on the saloon’s balcony where an outstanding selection of fine wines will be paired with some of the most delicious food DC has to offer.
“All of us at the Coalition are extremely grateful to the folks at Jack Rose for volunteering to host this incredible Veterans Day event,” said Matthew Pennington, U.S. Army (Ret.), field representative and Coalition ambassador. “It’s not often that we are beneficiaries of such a high-class event, but we sure know a good whiskey when we sniff one!”

Since its establishment in 2004, the Coalition to Salute America’s Heroes has provided an immediate, invaluable lifeline to thousands of America’s combat-wounded veterans. The Leesburg, VA-based organization is distinguished from other veteran-focused groups by its direct financial assistance to America’s wounded heroes. Its Emergency Financial Aid program has stopped foreclosure proceedings on veterans’ homes and kept their vehicles from being repossessed. Its innovative Heroes Thanking Heroes program provides transitional, part-time, flexible employment to nearly 50 combat-wounded veterans or their primary caregivers, enabling them to make phone calls from their homes, usually to personally thank donors for their contributions to the Coalition.
