Proven Marketing and Sales Veteran Joins National Award Winning PR Firm
Charlotte-based restaurant public relations firm Derek Farley Public Relations (DFPR) (www.dfpr.com) today announced that Linsey Beford will join its team as Senior Strategist, effective August 17, 2015.
Beford was most recently the National Sales Manager with sports marketing company American Varsity Sports, where she spent 13 years. Her accolades during her tenure included multiple MVP awards for sales and management excellence. Beford was also the marketing director for a 4-star restaurant in Charlotte and managed a restaurant corporation in Wilmington, NC.
“DFPR has had its eye on Linsey for some time and we feel she will be the catalyst for the tipping point of DFPR,” said agency president Derek Farley. “We’ve been a nimble, scrappy and results-oriented agency for years and our leadership team decided it was time to shift gears into growth without sacrificing performance. Linsey’s positive energy and experience is just what we need and we could not be more pleased to have her join our very exclusive team.”
For nearly the past decade, DFPR has served or is serving as the public relations agency of record for national restaurant chains such as Applebee’s, TGI Friday’s, On The Border Mexican Grill & Cantina, Shoney’s, Arooga’s, JJ’s Red Hots, Zinburger Wine & Burger Bar, CUPS Frozen Yogurt, Paciugo, Fox & Hound and Champps. The agency is also PR AOR for Safe Step Walk-In Tub Co. and UFC GYM’s Franchise Company. The firm routinely wins national awards on behalf of its clients from third party establishments such as Bulldog Awards, The Communicator Awards and the League of American Communication Professionals.
“Even with national success on our clients’ behalf, we feel that DFPR is the best kept secret in public relations and we have reached the point where we’d like to change that,” said DFPR executive vice president and managing partner Tom Beyer. “We’ve always expanded strategically so the incredible service our clients receive never wavers. Linsey will allow us to scale that and we’ll have more clients who rave over our representation.”
Linsey, a former scholarship athlete and an international business major with a degree from The University of North Carolina at Wilmington, will have responsibility for business development and account representation, primarily for up-and-coming restaurant companies, in addition to assisting with the agency’s current client roster. She will be based in Charlotte and report to Farley.
