Portland, OR – Jackrabbit
There’s going to be a “new sheriff in town” when TV celebrity Chef Chris Cosentino brings his head-to-tail culinary style to 830 SW 6th. Avenue in late April or early May. The “Top Chef Masters” winner will offer a menu of house-cured meats, a gin-centric cocktail menu, raw bar and large format entrees.
Worcester, MA – Kummerspeck
Chef Matt Mahoney and wife Rachel will open this casual combination eatery-butcher shop this spring at 118 Water Street. The menu will feature German influences to include offal entrees and underutilized meat cuts for steaks. It’s primarily a comfort food menu with German Mac-n-Cheese, Kasespatzle.
Louisville, KY – Whiskey Dry
Chef Edward Lee will add to his restaurant portfolio when this casual concept opens at 400 S. 4th. Street no later than June. The menu will pair international whiskeys with a burger culture built from locally sourced ingredients. Everything will be scratch-made in-house, buns, pickled condiments and sauces.
Bethesda, MD – Pandora Seafood Restaurant
Restaurateur partners Chris Zhu and George Cheung will bring their collective experiences and Asian influence to their new eatery at 7278 Woodmont Avenue for an early summer opening. In a space of 6,500 sq. ft. they plan a menu that’s a twist on classic seafood dishes in a contemporary setting.
Oxford, MS – Slim Chickens
Multiple-unit operator David Bagwell understands the need for simplicity of a restaurant operation and that’s his reasoning for bringing this quick-service concept to 2650 West Oxford Loop for a first quarter opening. The menu is focused on chicken tenders, chicken salad and a variety of chicken sandwiches.
Albuquerque, NM – Jambo Cafe
Chef Ahmed Obo will bring his popular casual concept to 1105 Juan Tabo for an anticipated early spring opening. The menu will feature influences from his native Kenya. Since half of his clientele at his Sante Fe unit this was an easy decision. Menu favorites will include beef kebobs and coconut lentil stew.
