The husband and wife team of Sam and Anna Russell will open their first breakfast and lunch concept sometime in April to be located at 1403 SE Moberly Lane. Wil the menu is still under development Anna states it will include breakfast and lunch classics made entirely from locally sourced food products.
Washington, DC – A Rake’s Progress
The Line DC Hotel will be the home for this fine dining-casual atmosphere concept from Chef Spike Gjerde opening early spring at 1780 Columbia Road NW. A wood-fired hearth will produce roasts of locally sourced game such as duck and rabbit, a variety of salads will be prepared tableside.
Lawrence, KS – Stonewall Restaurant and Pizzeria
Veteran restaurateur Joe Kieltyka and partner Joel Cundiff will open this casual eatery at 1008 Massachusetts Street by early April. The menu is a cardiologists dream with the mainstays of friend chicken, pan-seared pork chops, steaks, meatloaf, hamburgers and New York style (thin crust) pizza.
Carlsbad, CA – Draft Republic Gastropub
Cohn Restaurant Group will bring the second unit of their craft beer concept to 5958 Avenida Encinas for a summer opening. As the name implies over 100 craft beers will be offered from a variety of local San Diego area breweries. The Chef-driven menu will offer in-house charcuterie and house-made sausages.
Minneapolis, MN – Roti Modern Mediterranean
Fast-Casual concepts are all the rage locally and the newest operation will feature their offering on Mediterranean cuisine when it opens at 314 15th. Street SE in April. As the name suggests the menu will offer wraps, stuffed pitas and “rice plates” of favorites such as hummus, falafel and spit-grilled meats.
Dover, NH – Chapel and Main
Ben Lord the owner of Black Birch in Kittery, ME will bring his vision of New England comfort foods to 83 Main Street for a late spring opening. The atmosphere will be casual with a menu offering items such as deep-fried short ribs, braised lamb Bolognese, fish and chips all washed down with their craft beer.
