Originally slated for a fourth quarter 2015 opening the duo of prominent Pastry Chef Antonio Bachour and Chef Henry Hane will open prior to the end of the second quarter 2016 at 600 Brickell Avenue. The 40 seat bistro will offer both sweet and savory items in a breakfast, lunch and brunch format foregoing dinner at this time.
Kent, WA – Scotch and Vine
The husband and wife team of David and Jill Pritchard will open their second unit of this casual upscale cuisine unit at 2019 W. Meeker St. by May 1. The menu will feature Kobe beef, Bison and Elk burgers, 250 Scotch and whiskey labels a combination of 200 wines and craft beers. They will offer lunch, dinner and cart breakfast for golfers on the course.
Round Rock, TX – Salt Traders Coastal Cooking
Farm-to-table advocate Chef Jack Gilmore will open a complimentary seafood concept at 2850, I-35 by quarter’s end. Besides seafood sourced from gulf waters he will also seek and prepare items from both coasts. They will also serve locally sourced beef, chicken and pork with all items in a variety of preparations including smoking and wood-grilling.
Los Angeles, CA – L’Isola
Serial restaurant entrepreneurs Diane and Fabrizio Biancani will bring their upscale Italian cuisine to 8338 W. Third Street for a mid-fall opening. The 140 seat, European-influenced operation will offer refined, traditional Italian continental cuisine including pastas and their meat proteins will be finished over an open wood-fired grill.
Chicago, IL – Kanela Breakfast Club
The Giannoulias family likes to stay busy as brothers Alexi and Chris open their fifth concept at 5413 N. Clark Street sometime in May. The menu will reflect standards from the other locations paying homage to traditional Greek foods such as Loukoumades (Greek Doughnuts) and American favorites’ burgers, Monte Cristo and Mac & Cheese.
Boston, MA – Mamaleh’s Delicatessen
It wouldn’t be a Jewish Deli without rugalach, black & white cookies and kreplach and co-owners Evan Harrison and Rachel Miller Munzer won’t disappoint as they plan to open at 528 Commonwealth Avenue by mid-May. The team states other traditional items such as a smoked fish sampler, egg creams and celery soda will be featured as well.
