Minneapolis, MN – Popol Vuh and Central
A projected fall 2017 opening will bring Chef Jose Alacron to the helm of this kitchen located at 711 NE 15th. Avenue.  Central will be a casual, laid back all-day taco eatery. Meanwhile next door the Chef will prepare upscale versions of the “food of his youth” Mayan cuisine over an Argentinian wood-burning grill.

Kansas City, MO – The Peanut
For those not familiar with local lore this casual concept began as a Speakeasy during prohibition and will open their seventh unit in mid-May at 6409 N. Cosby Avenue.  The menu will continue to offer guest favorites to include their famous over-sized Buffalo wings, BLT sandwiches, craft beers and full bar.

Carlsbad, NM – Marion’s New American Restaurant
Chef-Owner Nicholas Melbourne is planning for an early May opening for his casual, full-service operation located at 106 W. Bonbright Street.  The restaurant will honor his late mother with a menu that features upscale classic American cuisine to include steaks, Pacific coast seafood, salads and burgers.

Durham, NC – Alpaca Peruvian Charcoal Chicken
This family-owned and operated fast-casual concept will open their fifth local unit by the end of May at 730 9th. Street.  The menu is limited in length but not in flavor as all proteins are rotisserie cooked in an oven burning natural, hardwood charcoal after an overnight soak in their house-made marinade.

Portland, OR – PDX Food Hall
The “Food Hall” market in Portland hasn’t reached the saturation point as the third addition (originally announced as a 2016 opening) will fling open their doors late spring at 827 SW Second Avenue.  The hall at 3,000 sq. ft. will seat 117, have one full-service bar with seven food operations from Asian to Latin.

Fargo, ND – Daran’s
Husband and wife restaurateur team Darrell and Celena Randle will no longer need to work out of a commissary kitchen when they open their doors at 30 N. University Drive in early July.  While renovations move forward they will develop a casual dining menu of southern soul food and West Indian cuisine.
