Boston, MA – Banyan
Banyan will be replacing the Hamersley’s Bistro/ The bistro has been active in the Boston area for 27 years. The new venue. The Gallows’ owner Rebecca Roth Gullo and general manager Seth Yaffe are behind a new wave of South End dining with Banyan, their third venture; The Gallows on Washington Street and Blackbird Doughnuts are the other pieces of the growing empire.

Gilbert, AZ – Barrio Queen
Barrio Queen, which has been successful in Scottsdale since 2011, is set to open its second location in Gilbert’s Heritage Marketplace.  By the end of April, Barrio Queen will be open in Gilbert in a 4,500-square foot space designed by LGE Design Group.

Dallas, TX – Cafe Izmir
The deli operation will move to the cafe, which will expand its hours from dinner-only to include lunch and dinner. And downtown Dallas residents will get a bigger and better Cafe Izmir, slated to open in the spring at 211 N. Ervay St., the 18-story “Alto 211” tower that’s been undergoing renovation by Turkish developer Mike Sarimsakci.

Miami, FL – Centro Taco    
Centro Taco will open this summer in the former Sakaya Kitchen downtown location at 125 SE Third Ave. Sakaya’s downtown spot has already closed in anticipation of the remodel. Sakaya Kitchen’s original midtown location remains open, and Hales is looking to open another Sakaya outpost in the near future.

Henrico. VA – Ciao Capri
Ciao Capri, an Italian restaurant focused on flavors from Capri Island off of Italy, is in the works in the former Accanto space at 10478 Ridgefield Pkwy. In some ways, the restaurant is more of a re-opening than a new opening.  Ciao Capri is from brothers and partners Alberto and Peppino Mastromano, who owned neighboring Little Venice and Accanto restaurants until they closed them last fall.

Sacramento, CA – Cooper on 3rd
These are busy times for the Old Soul says Tim Jordan co-owner. They are readying an expansion in Oak Park, where they are opening a wine bar and small-plates restaurant next to their coffee shop at 35th and Broadway. The new place, to be called Cooper on 3rd, will have 25 seats and is set to open by July 1, Jordan says.
