New Orleans, LA – 527 Restaurant and Bar
Pat Gallagher has purchased the building which formerly housed the Shinto Japanese Cuisine restaurant. This will be the second restaurant for Gallagher who opened his first restaurant 6 years ago. The building is going under a complete restoration. The restaurant will have seating for about 80 diners. An opening is expected in mid-July.
Syracuse, NY – Aloha Japanese Bento Express
Aloha Japanese Bento Express will open at 217 S. Salina St. in downtown Syracuse next month. The restaurant will have counter service with table and bench seating to accommodate about 20 diners. As the name implies the menu will be a combination of Japanese and Hawaiian foods with most meals costing under $10.00
Boston, MA – Banyan Bar + Refuge
Banyan Bar + Refuge is the newest addition to the Gallows Group, is planning to open this July in the old Hamersley Bistro spot on the south end. Construction is underway and hiring for staff is going on as well. There will be 50 seats outside and about 150 inside.
Seattle, WA – Big Mario’s
This will be the second location for Big Mario’s located in lower Queen Anne. The new location will be next to Cafe Vita. The new Mario’s will be located in an old building that needs tons of work so an opening is expected this fall!
Irvine, CA – Habana
Habana, the twenty-year-old Cuban staple in Costa Mesa, is making strides to open restaurant number two inside the Land of Bren, where no Cuban eateries currently exist. It’s set to open this winter at the Irvine Spectrum in a huge space by itself next to Sports Authority.
Houston TX – Cosima
The Donna’s team has started construction on a new restaurant at Mill No. 1, the mixed use development near Woodberry and Hampton. Cosima will feature southern Italian Cuisine and will have outdoor seating. Mill No. 1 is a former cotton mill being redeveloped by Terra Nova group. Work on this new restaurant is expected to last for about 6 months and an opening is expected this fall.
