St. Paul, MN – Kyatchi
In the spirit of “if one is good, two is better” Peterson siblings Sarah and Sam will open their second unit of their sustainable sushi restaurant late summer to be located at 308 East Prince Street. Patrons will be happy to see their menu favorites will also make the trip such as their signature Japanese hot dogs.
Baton Rouge, LA – Adrian’s
If it’s one thing locals like in Louisiana it’s their seafood and this cornerstone of Creole cooking won’t disappoint when they open in August at 18111Highland Road. The owners of Juban’s state the atmosphere will be more casual at this location and their signature Hallelujah Crab will grace the menu.
Seaside, CA – Salt Wood
In anticipation of a September opening at 1301 Fremont Blvd., Chef David Baron has been hosing “pop-up” events around the Monterrey peninsula most recently in Carmel Valley. While it’s under development the menu will focus on local, sustainable seafood served raw, cured and wood-fired in a casual setting.
Raleigh, NC – Morgan Street Food Hall & Market
When this 22,000 sq. ft. dining and retail space opens in late August at 411 West Morgan Street it will serve as a culinary incubator with over 60 stalls featuring “Chef-driven” food creations. Operators who have signed on include Cousins Maine Lobster, Maku’s Empanadas and City Sushi among many others.
South Burlington, VT – Smokey’s Low N Slow BBQ
Serial entrepreneur Jonathan Wish of Williston-based “Wow, That’s Good Food” will open his fifth concept sometime in July at 7 Fayette Drive. The menu will feature the usual barbecue suspects such as brisket, pulled pork and ribs along with smoked turkey and smoked duck breast and some inventive new dishes.
Columbus, OH – District 22 Pizzeria
After months of talk the proof will soon be in the pudding when this highly anticipated casual eatery opens by mid-July at 10 East Main Street in the New Albany suburbs. Chef Chuck Starcher is working on a 12” base pizza in the $9 to $10 range, they plan to add beer to their delivery menu with a three-case limit.
