Partners Chef Michael White and Ahmass Fakahany will open their second area Italian cuisine eatery to open late fall at 901 Fourth Street NW. A casual-feel atmosphere will host a full service bar and familiar menu items such as lasagna, tagliatelle ragu, and roasted vegetables with faro and entrée salads.

Atlanta, GA – Kafenio
Restaurateur Johnny Gianoulidis will open the second unit of this casual concept in early 2019 on East College Avenue. The doors will be open from breakfast through dinner with weekend brunch as well. Craft beer and wines will be available to complement their extensive Mediterranean-focused menu.

Slidell, LA – Middendorf’s
Any seafood fan who has waited for a table at the original location will gleefully receive the news of this local restaurant icons’ second unit with a planned spring, 2019 opening at 1951 Oak Harbor Blvd. This version of the catfish institution retains the same menu with seating for 300 with a 2,000 sq. ft. porch.

Las Cruces, NM – Poke Bop
Serial entrepreneurs Sung Song and Chef Tommy Hwang will partner again to bring this fast-casual, health-focused concept to life at 1001 E. University Avenue for a September opening. The menu focus is on bowls of rice topped with the guest’s choice fresh, marinated seafood, vegetables and house sauces.

Brandon, MS – Genna Benna’s Restaurant
Georgia Blue Restaurant Group will open their sixth Mississippi unit with a new casual concept to open at 200 North Street late summer. Traditional southern favorites such as shrimp and grits will complement other items to include steaks, seafood, burgers, pizza and pasta with a full service bar to wash it all down.

Houston, TX – Verdine
Chef Stephanie Hoban has come a long way from selling her vegan fare at farmer’s markets to a food truck and now her brick and mortar version will debut at 449 West 19th. Street later this fall. Featured on the menu will be the lentil-patty “Bistro Burger” with cashew cheese and a variety of craft beer and wines.
