Bellevue, WA – Desano Pizza Bakery
Owner Scott Desano had a vision as a youth to bring his families’ recipes to life and share them with his guests so fall of 2017 will welcome the opening of this family concept at 10500 NE 8th. Street. The ovens and pizza ingredients will be imported from Naples, Italy, the restaurant will feature an open kitchen.
Oakland, ME – Honcho
Union-Joints Restaurant Group co-owner Curt Catallo will open this casual Mexican-theme eatery on Main Street sometime in October. Renovation has been slow in the decades-old former car dealership but soon they will offer baked goods and freshly roasted coffee and house-made tortillas for the burritos.
New York, NY – Shorty Tang Noodles
James Tang will honor his grandfather by opening this traditional noodle shop at 98 8th. Avenue later this year. The recipes have remained the same since Tangs’ grandfather came to the US 50 years ago. The menu will feature cold sesame noodles in a peanut butter and chili sauce and braised beef noodle soup.
Phoenix, AZ – Mora Italian
TV celebrity Chef and owner/operator of four restaurants Scott Conant will open his first casual concept at 5651 North Seventh Street sometime in December. The menu will offer Neapolitan style pizza and other fare from a wood-fired oven, shareable plates, hand-crafted cocktails, live music will be featured as well.
Fargo, ND – Tru Blu Social
Restaurant partners Linda Young and Charlie Burrows will open this upscale concept early to late spring 2017 at 19th. Ave. E. and 9th. Street. Open for lunch and dinner the menu will feature steaks and seafood with specialty menus such as crab night and prime rib night. Their popovers and full bar will be available.
New Orleans, LA – Lula Restaurant Distillery
Chef Jeff Bourgeois will open this casual dual-purpose concept in late November at 1532 St. Charles. The distillery will use Louisiana cane sugar for their gin, rum, vodka and some of his signature sauces. On the menu, Mirliton will be offered as a version of fried pickles, seafood boils will follow the seasons.
