Tampa, FL – Union 72
The team that brought us “The Brass Tap” is extending their culinary reach with an “elevated barbecue” to be located at 28211 Paseo Drive with a mid-November target for opening.  The menu will feature global influences and some unique barbecue sauces such as white, sweet, smoked tomato and Brazilian.

Houston, TX – Field & Tides
Chef Travis Lenig formerly of the FEED restaurant group will stretch his legs as he opens his new concept just prior to Christmas at 705 E. 11th. Street.  The menu will focus on American locally sourced cuisine featuring gulf seafood and locally raised beef, pork and game in an upscale-casual atmosphere.

Wichita, KS – Fetch Bistro
As if they weren’t busy already husband and wife restaurateurs Gregg and Pamela Buss will open their second café with a distinct canine tilt in late October or early November at 7713 E. 37th. Street North.  With a dog-friendly patio the menu will feature breakfast and lunch favorites and “dog treat” specials.

Portland, OR – Tamale Boy
No longer satisfied serving just tamales owner Jaime Soltero, Jr. will open his fast-casual unit January 2017 at 668 N. Russel Street.  Menu features are burritos, tableside guacamole, chicharrones, shrimp and quinoa meatballs served on chipotle stew and a beer-braised octopus sandwich and avocado salsa.

Boston, MA – Lola 42
Boston fans of Chef Marco Coelho won’t need to ferry to Nantucket any more as the sister restaurant to the popular Lola 41 will open February, 2017 at 22 Liberty Drive.  This landside version will feature menu favorites such as sushi, soups, salads, burgers and steaks in the same casual-feel atmosphere.

Minneapolis, MN – Mrs. Dumpling
No sibling rivalry here as twin sisters Kia Jackson and Chanel Donahue open their casual Asian concept at 700 W. Lake Street by late December.  The two traveled China and other Asian countries to learn dumpling “culture” and create a menu full of pot stickers, fresh spring rolls, wontons and steamed buns.
