January 2016 will see former Cypress Room Sous Chef Michael Beltran open Ariete at 3540 Main Hwy. in Coconut Grove. Opening initially for dinner, with lunch and brunch to follow, the menu cornerstone will be the wood grill and will feature smoked headcheese, oxtail and bone marrow pie, foie gras and plantains and house made pickles.
Los Angeles, CA – Bar Angeles
4330 Sunset Blvd will be the location for the latest creation of the owners of downtown’s Horse Thief a bar and casual eatery nestled into 1,750 square feet with about 60 seats. A late 2016 opening is forecast with a California-Mediterranean menu of 20 core items with daily specials to support the main focus of the beverage menu all in a casual atmosphere.
Minnetonka, MN – Avenida, Cocina & Bar
The Kaskaid Hospitality family introduces their latest incarnation to be located at Hopkins Crossroad & 394 as a Latin-influenced casually upscale operation. Known for their variety of concepts to include Crave Deli & Catering, Union Rooftop Restaurant, Blvd Restaurant & Bar and REV Ultra Lounge the multi-concept operators will welcome Avenida into their fold of spirited hospitality creations to be open by years end.
Brooklyn, NY – Emmy Squared
The owners of Emily at 919 Fulton Street will open their new creation a few doors down from their current location with the assistance of partner Lou Tomczak. The new unit will feature square, pan-cooked Detroit-style pizza, Italian sandwiches, such as Chicken Parm and Cold Cut Combo along with craft beers and expects to open early 2016.
Denver, CO – The Rackhouse Pub
The Rackhouse Pub will move to 2875 Blake Street and pair up with the Bierstadt Lagerhaus to create a brew-pub with a totally redesigned menu under the direction of Chef Brandon Muncy. The partnership team of Chris Rippe, Bill Eye and Ashleigh Carter plan on a late 2015 opening in their River North neighborhood.
Houston, TX – UB’s Pizza and Mediterranean Pies
Years’ end will see the opening of a casual “build-it-your-own” pizza concept with a Mediterranean twist at 1226 Museum Square in this Houston suburb. Along with traditional pizza options the new operation will feature “Manakeesh” a flatbread of Lebanese origin with toppings typically found along the Mediterranean rim.
