3000 Falls Road will be the sight of local restaurateur Donna Crivello’s second concept after Donna’s Café. Slated for a January debut Cosima will feature rustic Mediterranean décor with a focus on traditional Sicilian menu items such as rice fritters, stuffed calamari, fried fish and Italian donuts.
Chicago, IL – Big Wig Tacos & Burritos
Owners of the King Burrito at 114 W. Chicago Avenue will reopen in spring of 2016 with their new Latin concept in a fast-casual format. Owner Jose Manolo Estrada states Big Wig will be the next evolution step from King Burrito in that it will offer more premium ingredients in a classic take on Mexican food and will still cater to late-night diners.
Atlanta, GA – Hampton & Hudson
Husband and wife restaurant team Billy & Jenn Streck will open early January, 2016 at 299 N. Highland Ave. with Chef Cooper Miller at the kitchen’s helm. The 3,500 sq. foot space will offer a creative menu with snack like house-made jerky, Duck McNuggets and biscuit sliders stuffed with Nashville-style spicy chicken, oysters or port.
Miami, FL – Naiyara
Chef Bee of Oishi Thai will open his new unit at 1854 Bay Road, Miami Beach by the end of December if final licenses and permits are in order. The Chef who won a people’s choice award with his truffled salmon tacos will feature Thai street fare at the new unit.
Portland, OR – Breakside Brewery
The third unit in a series of brewpubs this new unit will open in the Block 296 development corridor at NW 22nd. Avenue. A rooftop bier garten is in the plans which includes patio seating and a 5,000 sq. foot interior of brewery and restaurant. The opening is slated for late summer to just prior to the holidays.
Covington, LA – Bacobar
Two Commander’s Palace veterans and friends will open an Asian-Latin style casual atmosphere operation at 70437 Highway 21 by late January. The menu will feature local craft beer, frozen cocktails and menu items like kimchi debris fries, and steamed buns filled with Korean fried shrimp, miso-braised short ribs or Thai curry shrimp.
