San Francisco, CA – Ippudo
This Asian “bowl” concept has many international locations and the first west coast unit will open at 2011 Shattuck Avenue January, 2017. A traditional ramen-style concept it’s focus is on “tonkotsu” or pork-based noodle bowls. Renovations will reveal a wood-centric design, check Facebook for more details.
New Orleans, LA – Shelter House #1
New Orleans natives love their seafood and this casual spot will give them another reason to rejoice when it opens late spring 2017 at 6001 Stars and Stripes Blvd. This is a “boil-house” concept where many items are boiled or steamed to include crab, shrimp, crawfish along with Po’ Boys and gumbo.
Louisville, KY – Fredericks
Food for the body and soul will be offered at this family-friendly operation when it opens in January at 1018 S. 15th. Street. Chef Jerriel Bell will offer a varied menu based upon local tastes with items such as crab cakes, smoked turkey legs and fried fish. The goal is good food at affordable prices for locals.
Watertown, NY – B-Hat’s Curry House
Fans of Indian cuisine will welcome this new addition to the local dining scene when this casual unit opens late December at Stateway Plaza. Chef-owner Prabin Brat will offer traditional menu items such as chicken and pork curries along with samplings of Nepalese cuisine with seating for about 50 guests.
Albans City, VT – Smokin’ Butts Bar-B-Q at Mill River Brewery
Bringing two of their favorite things together the owners of this new casual brewery-restaurant combination will offer smoked ribs and brisket at their 133 N. Main Street location when they open their doors in spring of 2017. Bar and dining room seating will total for 48 guests with a patio for summer.
Rehoboth Beach, DE – Blue Hen
Owners of the Henlopen City Oyster House will open their second casual creation at 33 Wilmington Avenue with a January 2017 opening target. The menu will diverge from seafood to offer a variety of meat entrees and cheese plates. Seating for 90 will be available along with local craft beer on tap.
