Charleston, SC – 60 Bull Café
The third time maybe the charm when 60 Bull Café opens at 60 Bull Street on Charleston’s west side in the space formerly occupied by Bull Street Gourmet and Smith & Bull Café and Gourmet Market. Owners Torry and Kathi Bateson Glass have fetched Chef Joel Vetch of Station 22 to create a three day-part menu featuring regional ingredients. Their website only states they will be opening soon, perhaps by early 2016.
Tacoma, WA – The Defiant Goldfish
Nestled across from Point Defiance Park is the 80 year young former Goldfish Tavern about to be reborn by partners Adam Dopps and Corey Webb. The atmosphere and menu will be casual offering pizza, sandwiches and salads while a ten tap bar will feature a dedicated tap to Rainier with the remaining ones offering craft brews from within a 20 mile radius. The opening at 5310 N. Pearl St. will be as soon as final permits and inspections are complete.
Las Vegas, NV – Hong Kong Dim Sum
Hong Kong Dim Sum will occupy the former space of Jade and Cathay House at 5300 Spring Mountain Rd. The menu will offer seafood and continue the tradition of late-night dim sum carts and breakfast, roast duck, barbecue pork, egg tarts, noodles and fresh seafood. Renovations continue with an opening date beyond the first quarter of 2016.
Kansas City, MO – Leinenkugel’s
The five-generation brewing family will open their second restaurant at 1323 Walnut St. in early 2016. The menu will offer their traditional beer-batter fish fry with the fish changing seasonally in a toasted rye flour and Sunset Wheat beer batter. Tacos, braised chicken and oven-roasted vegetables will also grace the menu, opening is slated for early 2016.
Houston, TX – Roka Akor Steak, Seafood & Sushi
2929 Weslayan will be the home of the first Roka Akor operation in Texas and the fifth in the US. Opening will be in the third quarter of 2016 with a floor plan featuring a central grill offering their upscale version of Robata Japanese cuisine and a menu that will change its steak, seafood, vegetables and sashimi items seasonally.
Saugatuck, CT – Harvest Restaurant
Operator of multi-unit, independent restaurants, Vincente Siquenza, will open his families’ latest operation at 36 Railroad Place and feature an upscale “farm-to-fork” menu with Asian, Latin and Mediterranean influences with wine from the US and around the world. Opening will be early 2016 and guests will be greeted by a 22 stool bar of reclaimed wood.
