Baseball Fans can Cool Down with San Diego Padres Helmet Cup of Italian Ice
Rita’s Italian Ice, the world’s largest Italian Ice concept with over 600 stores, announced today, Rita’s area developer of San Diego has agreed to serve Rita’s Italian Ice and Custard at the San Diego landmark, Petco Park, home of the San Diego Padres. Rita’s Italian Ice will service several express units at the ballpark and offer four flavors of their famous Italian Ice, by the cup or in a souvenir Padres Helmet cup, and Custard Cookie Sandwiches made with OREO Cookie Wafers, at all home games beginning late-August. Rita’s “Cool Treats” brand will be located on the main concourse and at the “Park at the Park.” On Sundays, Rita’s On Wheels will be serving from the Park at the Park, located adjacent to the video board on the batter’s eye.
“We are thrilled to be able to offer attendees and sports fans at Petco Park Rita’s Ice Custard Happiness soon,” said Managing Director of Rita’s San Diego, Kurt Kuyper. “Padres fans will be able to watch their favorite team while enjoying Rita’s deliciously smooth, cool and refreshing Italian Ice in a Padres souvenir Helmet cup,” said Kuyper. “During the home games, attendees can enjoy four flavors of Rita’s Italian Ice and our popular Old-Fashioned Frozen Custard Cookie Sandwiches made with real OREO cookie wafers. By adding unique cool treats and variety to the food options at the park, we hope to enhance the fan experience with Rita’s!”
Besides bringing the popular Rita’s brand to Petco Park, Rita’s San Diego will employ 8-10 Treat Team members for each home game, and has hired over 100 Treat Team members to date for several San Diego area Rita’s stores now open. Rita’s San Diego plans to open more than 30 stores within San Diego County over the next few years, and currently have opened Carlsbad, Chula Vista, Encinitas, Oceanside, Vista and Escondido, Rancho Penasquitos, with others opening soon in San Marcos, Santee, University Square, Del Cerro, Mira Mesa and more.
