Robeks Fresh Juices & Smoothies franchise expands in the Northeast with its 10th location in Connecticut, while providing a career for three entrepreneurs
Friends and workout buddies Pat Kovac and Mark Henriques were always on the lookout for a place to get good protein shakes and natural drinks to supplement their active lifestyle in Danbury, Connecticut, but there was no such place. So they decided to open their own Robeks Fresh Juices and Smoothies franchise this fall.
“There was nothing like it in Danbury. The city doesn’t have a lot of health-conscious options for people,” says Mark. “We went to the Robeks in Fairfield, and I liked it a lot.”
Robeks smoothies and juices are made with premium whole fruits and vegetables – custom-blended right in front of our customers. That drew Pat and Mark to our brand. At Robeks, we pride ourselves on providing communities with convenient, on-the-go premium smoothies and fresh juices that use naturally ripe fruits and vegetables and no artificial ingredients or flavorings.
So far, the Danbury Robeks has been flooded with teenagers, young professionals, and those looking to live a healthier lifestyle.
A worthy, fulfilling career
The entrepreneurs in Danbury enjoy fitness and want to help others to understand the importance of healthy living. Running a Robeks and telling people about their healthy offerings is one way they get to do that and earn a living at the same time.
Pat, a runner who does high-intensity weight training, fell in love with Robeks and our focus on health and nutrition. He liked our emphasis on achieving maximum nutrition through fruit and vegetables, as well as the boosts like protein and fiber that allow customers to tweak their smoothie and juice orders to fit their needs. He has also been able to fulfill a personal dream of owning his own business by forming a partnership with Mark and Patricia Henriques. At the age of seven, Pat came to the United States from the Czech Republic with his parents, so owning his own business was an American dream for him.
Mark, who met Pat at the gym, has parents who are Portuguese, and Patricia, who likes to do yoga and Zumba, lived in Portugal after her family fled Lebanon in the early 1980s amid civil war.
Among the three, they speak English, Polish, Portuguese, Czech, and Arabic – allowing them to reach myriad customer populations. They plan to educate soccer fans, gym members, and other health-conscious residents in Danbury about the benefits of Robeks. Already the fresh juices and smoothie franchise has sponsored a local organization’s road race and kids run, where they gave out free samples to spread awareness of the Robeks brand.
New location solidifies Robeks expansion in the Northeast
The Danbury location is the 10th location in Connecticut for the smoothie franchise; our other locations are in West Hartford, Fairfield, Norwalk, Darien, Stamford, and Cos Cob. Neighboring New York has three locations.
While Robeks has roots in Southern California, our brand awareness is growing steadily across the country. In addition to Connecticut and New York, we are in 13 other states and the District of Columbia..
Word of mouth has helped to build the Robeks smoothie franchise empire nationwide, and social media buzz about our brand is spreading all over the world.
“We make social media turnkey for our franchisees, so they can maximize their time in the stores with our great customers,” says Chad Bailey, Robeks Chief Marketing Officer. “Our franchisees don’t have to worry about keeping up with the ever changing world of social media. We develop the campaigns, imagery, and content, and respond to fans and followers every day.”
