Affordable, fast casual ‘Kitchen Counter’ service offers scratch-made dinners for $9 in 9 minutes
In October, Romano’s Macaroni Grill made full-service restaurant history by adding some fast casual flair with its new lunchtime Kitchen Counter ordering option. The reaction was so swift – and so overwhelmingly positive – the popular Italian-themed chain announced today that it would immediately extend the counter-style format to its dinner guests as well.
Effective today, Romano’s ‘Kitchen Counter’ menu is now available to-go seven days a week, for both lunch and dinner. Dine-in is available during lunch hours daily, and Monday through Thursday for dinner, at more than 130 Macaroni Grill locations nationwide.
“Honestly, we thought the Kitchen Counter concept was going to catch on quickly, but I’m pleased to say it exceeded our already-high expectations,” said John Gilbert, president of Romano’s Macaroni Grill. “We knew busy people would appreciate a fast, high-quality lunch without the fast-food experience, and they proved us right. So why wouldn’t it work just as well at dinner?”
Romano’s Kitchen Counter dinner guests can enjoy a handcrafted, scratch-made meal for $9, delivered in nine minutes, or the meal is free. Each of the dishes is drawn from signature classics found on the Macaroni Grill menu, including Pork Belly & Chicken Carbonara, Prosciutto & Chicken Penne, Pesto Chicken Farfalle, Diavola Scaloppine and Chicken Milanese Panzanella.
Similarly, Kitchen Counter lunch options are offered at $7, and guaranteed in seven minutes or it’s free. The menu includes a wide array of options such as fresh salads, classic dishes-turned-sandwiches, pastas and specialty Calzonettos – handheld pockets filled with your favorite Italian ingredients and baked in a brick oven.
“Who wouldn’t rather have a fresh, made-to-order $7 lunch, or $9 dinner, from Macaroni Grill than the gut-busting alternatives at the drive-thru that often cost about the same?” continued Gilbert. “Just come on in, meet us at the counter, and stop compromising on taste and quality. We’ll get you in and out quickly and both your wallet and your stomach will thank you.”
The Romano’s Kitchen Counter format is available today at 137 existing Romano’s Macaroni Grill locations nationwide. To find a location near you, visit macaronigrill.com/express-dinner.
