Rustika Café and Bakery Reintroduces its Jewish-Mexican Fusion Favorites to FriendswoodThe Friendswood community can once again enjoy Rustika Café and Bakery‘s all-natural, preservative-free food and desserts now that the Texas-based bakery has reopened near Stevenson Park!

Located at 1302 S. Friendswood Drive, the Friendswood Rustika Café and Bakery is now corporate-owned with new management and staff, and features an enhanced experience. The upgraded café and bakery recently underwent cosmetic renovations, including adding a private room for group gatherings, fresh coat of paint, rustic decorations and fixtures, and much more. In addition, the café and bakery will offer cooking and baking classes, for both kids and adults, for the community to enjoy.

To celebrate Rustika’s grand reopening, the family-owned café and bakery is giving The Birthday Joy Program – a nonprofit organization dedicated to bringing birthday parties to children in homeless shelters, group homes and other disadvantaged situations – a free School of Lil’ Chefs class for up to 20 guests and a personalized custom cake. In March, kids from The Birthday Joy Program will get to experience a two-hour baking or cooking party. During the class, they will get to choose two activities, which include cake decorating, cookie baking and decorating, savory and sweet pizza baking, pastry baking and quiche baking.

“We’re so excited to reopen – with a new look – and rejoin the amazing Friendswood community,” said Rustika Culinary Director Justinne Whichard. “We’re committed to giving back to the community and wanted to share our family’s passion for cooking and teaching with local youth. It is our hope that we inspire children to fall in love with baking and cooking as they go through this class. We can’t wait to host the cooking class in the weeks ahead and are excited for future events in our newly renovated space.”

Inspired by cultural culinary experiences from across the globe that span generations, Rustika Café and Bakery serves delicious Jewish-Mexican fusion favorites such as Chilaquiles, Migas and Matzah Ball Soup, along with the traditional omelets, sandwiches, salads and more. Plus, guests can indulge in decadent cakes, cookies, pies, desserts and pastries as the perfect treat after – or maybe even before – a great meal.

Rustika Café and Bakery specializes in all-natural, preservative-free, handmade cakes that are perfect for any occasion. The bakery’s talented cake artists create beautiful, tasty edible masterpieces daily that are the perfect centerpieces for birthdays, baby showers, wedding showers, graduations, weddings and more.
