Salsarita's Launches Smoked Brisket Tacos for Limited Time

Salsarita’s, the national Fresh Mexican Cantina chain, is debuting a new menu item: smoked brisket tacos. The hardwood smoked brisket, available for a limited time only, marks a distinct contrast from Salsarita’s existing menu options.

“The bold flavors of this promotion signal the future direction of Salsarita’s,” said President and COO Larry Reinstein. “We want to be top of mind for our guests when it comes to unique choices and creative specials.”

The brisket taco begins with a soft corn tortilla, a nod to traditional Mexican street fare. The brisket’s smoky flavor is complimented by the roasted tomatoes in the salsa charro. Caramelized onions offer a sweet contrast to the heat of the salsa, and the final product is topped with a light sprinkling of cilantro for a pleasantly bitter note.

The new offering was designed from scratch by Tom LaFauci, the brand’s menu development manager.

“The smoky flavor of the brisket and the roasted sweetness of the caramelized onions make this an outstanding flavor combination for our guests. I’m excited to share this creation,” LaFauci said.

The new offering will launch at Salsarita’s restaurants nationwide Oct. 1 and will continue through the end of the calendar year. This is the brand’s first true limited time offering. However, the corn tortillas will become a permanent menu addition and will be an option for all tacos along with crispy and soft flour tortillas.

In addition to the new brisket tacos, Salsarita’s offers signature Mexican favorites such as burritos, quesadillas, tacos, Mexican salads, signature Casaritos and nachos made fresh to order with an extensive assortment of proteins, toppings and fillings, including complimentary guacamole. Founded in 2000 in Charlotte, N.C., Salsarita’s operates more than 80 franchised locations in 19 states. Long-range projections call for about 400 locations nationwide within the next five to six years. For more information visit www.salsaritas.com.
