Sarpino’s Welcomes 2015 after Fifth Consecutive Year of Double-Digit Growth
Sarpino’s Pizzeria, the popular pizza franchise famous for its gourmet pizzas baked following authentic Italian recipes, has made Pizza Magazine’s 2015 Top-50 U.S. Pizzeria Chains list. Sarpino’s ranking on the venerated industry report represents its third-consecutive appearance on the annual list. Sarpino’s latest placement on the Top-50 list recognizes the franchise’s 14.5% sales increase over the previous ranking and shows an improvement of six places up to #42. Sarpino’s has shown double-digit growth in annual sales for the last five years. Pizza Magazine’s 2015 Pizza Power Report acknowledges the fifth consecutive year of restaurant industry growth. This trend is affirmed by Sarpino’s own growth throughout 2014, where the franchise expanded into Georgia and Florida, with plans to expand into new markets in 2015 firmly in place. This, President of Sarpino’s Pizzeria Dmitry Shapiro says, is only the beginning for the franchise founded in 2000. “Sarpino’s recognition by Pizza Magazine is a great affirmation that the growth we’ve seen is no mere trend—it’s sustainable,” notes Shapiro. Sarpino’s is rated #14 nationwide in average sales per unit, compared to competitors like Papa John’s and Domino’s, which were rated #27 and #28 respectively.
Sarpino’s performance recognition by Pizza Magazine is all the more impressive, says Shapiro, due to Sarpino’s small-footprint delivery concept placement in the ranking among full-service sit-down restaurants. “At Sarpino’s we take great pride in being able to offer gourmet pizzas the likes of which you’d have to go to a large footprint sit-down restaurant, with the convenience of free fast delivery,” says Shapiro. “Pizza Magazine’s industry report recognizes the increasing premium customers are placing on pizza made from quality ingredients, served in a way that meets the demands of their busy, on-the-go lifestyle. Heading into 2015, we’re confident that Sarpino’s doesn’t just meet those demands, but exceeds them.”
