Dairy Queen celebrates Valentine’s Day by offering to host February 14th weddings
First comes love, then comes marriage…at a Dairy Queen restaurant. In celebration of Valentine’s Day and the launch of the new Red Velvet Blizzard Treat, the featured Blizzard of the month, the Dairy Queen system, part of Berkshire Hathaway (NYSE: BRK.A and BRK.B), is inviting all fans to get married and celebrate with a reception at their local DQ restaurant on Friday, February 14.
“Planning a wedding can be stressful, so this Valentine’s Day, we want to alleviate some of that stress by inviting our fans to celebrate their big day with the Dairy Queen brand,” said Barry Westrum, executive vice president of Marketing for American Dairy Queen Corporation (ADQ). “Not only are participating locations offering the venue where the happy couple can say their vows, but we’ll also provide the food for the reception and a signature Red Velvet Blizzard Cake at the restaurant. What better way to start off a sweet marriage than then to do it at a DQ restaurant?”
To say “I do” at a participating DQ location, fans must email a request to DairyQueen@piersongrant.com by noon Eastern Time on Wednesday, February 12. Requests must include the name of the bride and groom, contact information including email, phone number and address, proposed time and proposed location of the Dairy Queen restaurant where the wedding and reception might occur, and number of guests (up to 20), who would be attending. Upon acceptance of a request, food and a signature Red Velvet Blizzard Cake will be provided. Fans must come with a copy of their marriage license, their own officiant and no alcohol is permitted.
