Two months after launching its largest restaurant worldwide in the Dominican Republic in June, Johnny Rockets opened an equally impressive restaurant today in Rancho Mirage, CA – second in the U.S. in size only to the Knott’s Berry Farm location that opened in April 2006.
At 5,200 square feet, the freestanding facility offers seating for 198 guests, including 44 on the outside patio. It is located at the Waterfront, across from The River – a popular dining and entertainment venue for local residents as well as visitors to the area.
In addition to the signature juicy Hamburgers, crispy American Fries served with a ketchup smiley face, hand-spun Shakes, and classic Sandwiches the iconic restaurant chain has served up for the past 26 years, this Johnny Rockets location’s menu boasts additional items specifically designed for their unique desert audience.
Breakfast includes an omelet station along with a variety of waffles, French toast, pancakes, breakfast sandwiches, specialty egg dishes, cereals, smoothies and juices. For lunch and dinner, health-conscious diners will appreciate the Ivy Spinach Salad, Santa Fe Turkey Salad, Chinese Chicken Salad, salad bar, and fresh carved sandwiches, while those with a sweet tooth will savor the Choco’late Lovin, Luscious Red Velvet, High Tower Carrot, Chantilly Cream Cake and other gourmet desserts. The restaurant features Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf beverages, wine, and a selection of draft beers on tap.
“When we first designed this restaurant, we wanted it to be the biggest and best eating establishment we could make it,” said franchise partner Nick Thomas, who has operated a successful Johnny Rockets restaurant in Camarillo with wife Marriette for nearly three years. “We started with what is most readily identified with Johnny Rockets – the classic design, all-American menu and dancing servers – and added interesting architectural elements and food items created just for us by local chef Melinda Garland. We look forward to welcoming Coachella Valley residents and visitors to our fun, friendly and flavorful dining experience.”
“With nearly 50,000 residents, along with the influx of visitors that the area welcomes during the winter months, the demographics are extremely conducive to our lively brand,” added John Fuller, CEO of Johnny Rockets. “Nick and Marriette are superb franchise operators, and we have every expectation that their second restaurant will be just as successful as their Camarillo location.”
The new Johnny Rockets Rancho Mirage restaurant is located at 71885 Highway 111, across from The River. The restaurant is open from 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. Sunday through Thursday, and from 7:00 a.m. to midnight on Friday and Saturday.
