Smashburger San Diego, which has just opened its eleventh location in Point Loma, announced today a special “Surprise and Delight” community outreach campaign to run during the month of September. Each week during the month of September, teams from each Smashburger San Diego location (Rancho Penasquitos, Kearny Mesa, Oceanside, Del Mar, Vista, College, Hillcrest, La Jolla, Mission Valley, Downtown, and Point Loma) will be engaging their communities by volunteering for local charities and surprising other local volunteers with Smashbucks, Free Side certificates, and Smashburgers.
“We’ve built our philosophy and business by engaging our communities—making lasting, valuable connections with locals and local organizations. We watch thousands of our friends and neighbors initiate good deeds, support excellent and innovative causes, and we’ve in fact succeeded because these same friends and neighbors have so supported us,” says Dave Wisenhunt, San Diego Franchise co-owner. “While we always try to find ways to get involved with our communities, we wanted to find a way to thank the volunteers that are out there every day, building and strengthening our neighborhoods. We could think of no better way than donating our time and surprising them with some burger love!”
Smashburger will appear at several charitable events throughout San Diego County each week during the month of September.
In addition to its local community efforts, Smashburger San Diego further remains dedicated to its community by featuring a regional menu created with the best regional flavors and tastes in mind. The San Diego regional menu includes:
- The signature San Diego Smashburger featuring fresh avocado, fresh cilantro and onions, pepper jack cheese, lettuce, tomato, sour cream and chipotle mayo on a fresh torta roll, served with a wedge of lime.
- The BBQ Ranch chicken sandwich featuring a grilled or crispy chicken breast with applewood smoked bacon, haystack onions, lettuce, tomato, bbq sauce and ranch dressing on an artisan butter toasted egg bun.
- The Sunset salad featuring a fresh mix of garden greens topped with strips of grilled or crispy chicken, sliced marinated balsamic tomatoes, raisins, cranberries, sunflower seeds, pumpkin seeds, blue cheese, served with balsamic vinaigrette dressing.
- Regional microbrews from San Diego-based breweries as well as wine from California-based wineries.
Smashburger is known for its savory burgers, but the restaurant also serves up delicious chicken sandwiches, grilled and seared hotdogs, and delicious salads, with an array of sides like veggie frites and rosemary and garlic–seasoned Smashfries. Guests can pair their meals with beer, wine, handspun Häagen-Dazs shakes, and root-beer floats.
