Smashburger, a fast-casual “better burger” restaurant, will make Tucson-area residents’ mouths water in November. The Denver-based restaurant is set to open its first Tucson-area location this fall, with three subsequent stores coming by the end of 2014. The first Tucson-area restaurant is slated to open in November at 4821 E. Grant Road, bringing ”smashed-to-order” burgers, an array of signature sides, and delicious handspun Häagen-Dazs shakes to Tucson residents.
Smashburger is being introduced to Tucson by Southern Arizona Restaurant Company, LLC created especially for this venture. The company’s principals–Eric Wolf and Laura Wolf– collectively bring over 40 years of restaurant industry experience and are excited to introduce the Smashburger brand to the Tucson market.
“In a marketplace that is already crowded with burger restaurants, we think Smashburger stands out because it offers so much more than just a great burger,” says operator, Eric Wolf. “There is something for everyone here and we think that Tucson residents will really embrace the Smashburger brand.”
At Smashburger the secret is in the smash. They start with 100-percent—fresh, never frozen, Certified Angus Beef and smash it on a 400 degree flat grill to sear in the juicy flavor. To further the “better burger” experience, every Smashburger is served on a butter toasted artisan bun and topped with a selection of real cheeses, the freshest produce, and top-quality condiments.
Smashburger’s signature recipes and create your own burgers are smashed fresh, served delicious every time. But Smashburger is more than just burgers. The restaurant also serves up delicious chicken sandwiches, grilled and seared hotdogs, and delicious salads, with an array of sides like veggie frites and rosemary and garlic–seasoned Smashfries. Guests can pair their meals with beer, wine, handspun Häagen-Dazs shakes, and root-beer floats.
Each Tucson-area Smashburger will feature a regional menu created with regional flavors and tastes in mind. The Phoenix menu includes the signature Arizona Smashburger, which is a 100-percent Certified Angus Beef burger, topped with habanero cheese, guacamole, lettuce, tomato, onion, chipotle mayo and fresh jalapenos on a chipotle bun. Tucsonians can also enjoy the the Arizona Cobb Salad featuring a mix of fresh greens, applewood smoked bacon, cheddar cheese, tomatoes, onions, guacamole and fresh jalapenos topped with spicy chipotle dressing.
