Spaghetti Warehouse Launches 40th Anniversary Celebration

Six-Month Campaign Featuring Interactive Online Photo Album Specially-Created Song, Nationwide Spaghetti Warehouse Trolley Tour

Following on the belief that “…every visit is a celebration”, Spaghetti Warehouse Restaurants Inc. is celebrating its 40thanniversary in a memorable way.

The purpose of the anniversary celebration, according to Azam Malik, president, Spaghetti Warehouse Restaurants Inc. is “…our way of expressing our appreciation and thanks to our many loyal guests.”

The six-month campaign began in early June with the introduction of a new 40th anniversary menu and a series of “blast off” events at all of its restaurants in Texas, Ohio, New York, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Oklahoma and Florida. It is expected the campaign will run through the end of the year.

A special 40th anniversary celebration website – 40years.meatballs.com – was created featuring all of the news and happenings for the campaign.

‘COMING TO YOUR CITY’ – Online Photo Album, Nationwide Trolley Tour Promises to Add Local Flavor to Celebration

Adding to the fun is a strong focus on community involvement as part of the celebration. Currently, Spaghetti Warehouse is busy with a host of activities, special offers and promotions including:

  • The Spaghetti Warehouse 40th Anniversary Photo Album. Spaghetti Warehouse is giving away cash and prizes totaling $10,000 for guests, who are being randomly selected from those who post photos – both new and old – of themselves or with family and friends taken at the restaurant.
  • A community-based partnership with the American Cancer Society (ACS). A donation of $10,000 will be awarded by Spaghetti Warehouse to the local participating ACS chapter who uploads the most photos to the 40th Anniversary Photo Album as part of the celebration.
  • And, for nearly a month, the Irving, Tex.-based company – known for its iconic, dine-in trolley car, has been hitting the road as part of the Spaghetti Warehouse 40th Anniversary Celebration Trolley Tour. Featuring its signature Trolley car, the tour is visiting the cities, in which a Spaghetti Warehouse Restaurant is located. The tour began in June with stops in Syracuse, NY, Pittsburgh and Columbus, Ohio. Along the way, a street team – together with the trolley’s driver, Elaine Jones – having been making dozens of stops at all kinds of community events. Numerous ‘surprise’ stops are also adding to the excitement.

At each ‘tour’ stop, Spaghetti Warehouse is giving away prizes for playing games, such as “Meatball Toss” and the “Pasta Wheel”. The activities are geared to both adults and children alike.

Specially-Created Song Provides Rhythmic Twist to Celebration

Featuring clever lyrics and a danceable beat, a song – aptly titled, “The Spaghetti Warehouse Song” – was written expressly for the 40th Anniversary Celebration by a group of talented studio musicians in California.

The song is featured on the 40th anniversary celebration website.

“It’s one of those tunes that gets in your head – in a good way, that’s fun…and if it makes you hungry, great!” said Malik.

40th Anniversary Celebration Menu Features 11 New Items

The development of the new entrees and appetizers – together with the wine pairings – were led by Larry Bellah, Spaghetti Warehouse Restaurants’ new CorporateExecutive Chef. “Our 40th Anniversary Celebration menu features our most popular and enduring selections. And, we’ve added a host of fresh, new tastes to add to the experience our guests have come to expect from us,” added Malik.

The centerpiece of the new menu items includes five entrees – Spaghetti Pesto Basilica, Grilled Chicken Linguini, Kung Pao Chicken Spaghetti, Grilled Sirloin Milano and a Fire-Grilled Salmon with Basil Cream.  In addition, there are two new, flavorful appetizers including Tuscan Caprese and a variety of Bruschette offerings. Guests will also have the opportunity to experience the new Grilled Chicken Harvest Salad.

Thanks to a partnership between Wente Vineyards and the Food Network, Spaghetti Warehouse is offering two varietal wines – Chardonnay and Cabernet Sauvignon – under the brand name ‘entwine’.

“Right now, we feel like we’re everywhere…this is a special time and hosting a celebration at Spaghetti Warehouse is the way we’ve always approached every visit with our guests since 1972.”, explained Malik.
