SSCP Management Finalizes Acquisition of Roy's RestaurantSSCP Management Finalizes Acquisition of Roy's RestaurantIn an announcement made earlier today, successful Dallas businessman, Applebee’s franchisee and philanthropist, Sunil Dharod, President and Chief Executive Officer of SSCP Management, officially added the Roy’s Restaurant chain to his restaurant portfolio.

In late 2014 Bloomin’ Brands announced their intention to sell its interest in the Roy’s concept to United Ohana, LLC, a new division of Dharod’s SSCP Management, Inc. Dharod, who has been involved in the restaurant industry for over thirty years with multiple concepts, is also the owner of the Apple Texas Group which owns and operates 69 Applebee’s restaurants located throughout Texas. In addition to his leadership in the restaurant industry, Dharod also owns several commercial real estate properties.

“Roy’s is a very exciting and successful brand,” said Dharod. “I look forward to its further growth by capitalizing on its established foundation.” Although terms of the deal were not disclosed, Cheryl Green, Vice President of Human Resources for SSCP Management, Inc., confirmed that Roy’s current management team will remain in place and will continue to be led by the current president, Rick Scott.

Chris Dharod, Vice President at SSCP Management, Inc., worked extensively with Bloomin’ Brands to successfully close this deal and he was very complimentary of the team, adding, “Bloomin’ Brands was a pleasure to work with throughout the entire acquisition and closing process.”

Roy Yamaguchi founded the Roy’s brand in 1988 in Honolulu, Hawaii and the brand has since grown to 29 restaurants around the world – 20 in the continental United States, six in Hawaii, one in Japan and one in Guam.
