Appealing to fans in search of a refreshing meal that is full of flavor during the hot summer months, Zaxby’s is promoting its Grilled House Zalad through Sept. 30 in all 680+ locations. With nearly 10 million sold last year, the House Zalad is a proven fan favorite, and Zaxby’s is highlighting the refreshing fare as a cool alternative to blazing temperatures.
“The House Zalad is Zaxby’s flagship salad—it was our first Zalad and it’s a top-selling menu item,” said Stephanie Gamble, Zaxby’s vice president of Menu Innovation. “The House Zalad has gained a following over the past 10 years, and we felt summer was the perfect time to spotlight this game-changer.”
A tremendous amount of thought went into the development of the House Zalad. Fresh ingredients are paired for flavorful and aesthetic appeal, incorporating lettuces and cheeses that are easy on the palate. Roma tomatoes and cucumbers add pops of color that complement the overall taste profile. And of course, Zaxby’s delicious chicken sits on top.
“We take great care to cut our ingredients into bite-sized pieces, so guests don’t have to do any extra work,” said Gamble. “This means that each forkful can be perfectly crafted to the last bite.”
More than 10 years later, the House Zalad formula is still the same: a blend of mixed greens, red cabbage, carrots, cucumbers, Roma tomatoes, cheddar and Jack cheeses and fried onions, topped with grilled or fried chicken and served with Texas Toast. Guests can customize their salad with nine dressings and nine signature dipping sauces.
Zaxby’s has teamed up with country music up-and-comers Brett Eldredge and Thomas Rhett for ad spots supporting the summer campaign. The duo employs the same charm and easygoing banter that fans enjoy on stage to promote the House Zalad. Best known for No. 1 hits “Don’t Ya,” “Beat of the Music” and “Mean to Me,” Eldredge was awarded Country Music Association’s New Artist of the Year in 2014. Boasting two No. 1 singles of his own, Rhett has also co-written songs for country music superstars Jason Aldean, Lee Brice and Florida Georgia Line.
Another way guests can beat the heat is with The Coca-Cola Company’s proprietary drink fountain, Coca-Cola Freestyle. The sleek, stylish fountain is touchscreen-operated, enabling guests to select from more than 100 regular and low-calorie beverages.
The House Zalad is a permanent menu item, and is available in all Zaxby’s restaurants. Zaxby’s currently operates more than 680 locations in 16 states: Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Indiana, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, Missouri, North Carolina, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Utah and Virginia.
