Huntsville location heads Dance Your Dreams fundraiser
The fast growing breakfast-lunch chain Sunny Street Café recently celebrated the grand opening of their fourteenth location in Huntsville, Alabama. Franchisee Terry Douthit, with wife Dawne, opened their first Sunny Street Café in August.
“The response by our guests has been overwhelming,” said Terry Douthit. “We’ve been truly blessed by the support from the Huntsville and Madison communities.”
Terry and Dawne are long time Huntsville residents and entrepreneurs. The opening of Sunny Street Café represents their first venture into the restaurant industry. “The breakfast and lunch category is very attractive,” said Douthit. “Folks love our food and the operation avoids nights and alcohol.”
During the first month of opening, fundraising efforts were focused on the Dance Your Dreams Program, which operates at Merrimack Hall Performing Arts Center. The program provides dance education to children who cannot participate in mainstream dance education due to physical, mental or emotional disabilities.
“Dance Your Dreams has been close to our hearts for a very long time,” said Douthit. “The ability to raise awareness and give back to support this amazing program is very rewarding.”
City dignitaries and chamber members, as well as Mayor Troy Trulock of Madison, were on hand for the ribbon cutting ceremony. Afterwards, a $4,000.00 check was presented to Dance Your Dreams.
“Terry and Dawne are great additions to the Sunny Street Café family,” said Scott Moffitt, President of Sunny Street Café. “They are pillars of their community as well as savvy entrepreneurs. Their excitement to open a new business and provide over 30 jobs to the Huntsville and Madison area is contagious. This community-centric philosophy is one of the hallmarks of our brand.”
