Restaurant partners with local charity during grand opening
Sunny Street Café in Roanoke, Texas celebrated their grand opening by raising over $10,000 for Ranch Hands Rescue. The restaurant partnered with the charity to raise funds and awareness throughout their grand opening celebration.
“We knew we wanted our grand opening to make a difference in the community,” said Mike Stasko, VP at Sunny Street Café. “When we connected with Ranch Hands Rescue, we were touched by their work–it is nothing short of amazing. It was a cause we were passionate about and knew we wanted to help out with. Bob and his team are doing truly humbling work.”
In addition to fundraising during the first month of opening, Sunny Street had faculty from Ranch Hands Rescue come in and participate as “guest bussers” for the café, interacting with guests and spreading awareness about the organization.
Ranch Hands Rescue is a sanctuary for animals as well as a counseling center for people. The charity saves abused and neglected animals, then trains them to help comfort those who have suffered from abuse, as well as military veterans suffering from PTSD. The organization began in 2008 by Bob Williams.
“When Sunny Street Café reached out to us we were thrilled,” said CEO of Ranch Hands Rescue, Bob Williams. “The amount of money raised is overwhelming. We know it’s going to make a huge impact for our organization, for all those seeking help here at Ranch Hands.”
Located in Roanoke at US 377 and 114, next to Walmart, Sunny Street Café has quickly become a go-to place for breakfast and lunch for the surrounding area. The results of the campaign with Ranch Hands Rescue were icing on the cake. “We were astounded by the outcome of the fundraiser,” Stasko said. “A special thank you to our guests in Roanoke and surrounding communities, including a few very generous donors.”
