New winter menu items are a new spin on Southern classics

Sunny Street Café Reimagines Comfort FoodSunny Street Café has introduced a new Comfort Classics menu for the winter season. Each of the six new items imagine classic Southern fare with a Sunny Street twist.

“We’re really excited about this menu,” says Matt Stasko, Head Chef for Sunny Street Café.  “From the Monte Cristo-inspired French Toast Sandwich to the Low Country Eggs Benedict, our new menu items introduce a different take on comfort food.”

For breakfast, guests can now order the Low Country Benedict: buttermilk biscuits, homemade pimento cheese, and hand-breaded fried chicken, topped off with poached eggs and gravy. New Coffee Crumb muffins are a delicious twist on coffee cake, fluffy and moist with a streusel topping. The other breakfast standout includes Cinnamon Roll Pancakes, with a blast of cinnamon-sugar in the middle, maple cream and cinnamon butter.

The French Toast Sandwich is thick sliced french toast with grilled ham, turkey, Swiss, a side of homemade berry jam, designed to eat knife-and-fork style. The Pimento Bacon Cheeseburger features candied bacon and homemade pimento cheese. Finally, homemade Black Bean Chorizo Chili comes fully loaded with pico de gallo, cheddar, tortilla strips, and cilantro sour cream.

“So far, our guests are loving this menu,” Stasko said. “We really try to take familiar items and give them a unique spin, and the result is a delicious meal that you might not be expecting.”
