Suzy’s Swirl, a frozen dessert restaurant in Gurnee Mills, Illinois, is doing something warm for its customers during the coldest time of the year. The restaurant recently kicked off a Valentine’s Day promotion called “Love is in the Swirl,” offering couples the opportunity to win a diamond engagement ring courtesy of Rolland’s Jewelers and become engaged at Suzy’s Swirl on Valentine’s Day.
“Everything we do at Suzy’s Swirl, we do with love,” says Suzy’s Swirl co-owner Kathleen Wood. “Being able to share that love with our community here in Gurnee and beyond is important to us both as a business and as a family.”
Sue Tierno, Kathleen’s sister and co-owner, adds that being involved with the community is a central part of the mission of Suzy’s Swirl.
“We do whatever we can to give back and be involved in the community,” says Tierno. “This promotion is just one way we celebrate our customers.”
To enter, couples must submit a video about how they engage with Suzy’s Swirl and why they want to get engaged at the restaurant. After entering the contest, participants “swirl up the world” to vote for their video. Once the three finalists with the most votes are determined, in-store voting will select the grand prize winner, who will receive a diamond engagement ring worth $1,300 in partnership with Rolland’s Jewelers, a family-owned jewelry store serving the community for more than 70 years.
“Being able to partner with another locally owned business to bring joy to a lucky couple is terrific for our entire community” says Anne Marie Marker, manager of Rolland’s.
