Taco John's Invites Customers to Build Their Own Burritos & Bowls

Mexican quick service restaurant chain Taco John’s International is unveiling a “new way to TJ” this summer. With the nationwide launch of Santa Fe Burritos and Bowls, Taco John’s is inviting guests to customize what goes into the menu item and how it’s served.

“Our research shows customers, especially Millennials, are looking for control over the food they order. That’s exactly what they’ll find with Santa Fe Burritos and Bowls,” says Jeff Linville, CEO of Taco John’s International. “At the same time, we’ve made it very simple. Guests can choose shredded beef or chile lime chicken, regular size or large, in a tortilla or a bowl and a choice of three salsas.”

Adding all the ingredient options along with the available toppings, and Taco John’s estimates there are more than 750 different ways to build Santa Fe Burritos and Bowls.

“The ‘large’ size is the biggest menu item we’ve ever offered. And the ‘regular’ option is popular with people who want lighter fare and a smaller portion,” says Linville. “Even with the customizable options, Santa Fe Burritos and Bowls are available through the drive-thru. They are different, made simple.”

Taco John’s is asking its customers to help spread the word about Santa Fe Burritos and Bowls. The restaurant has launched a digital word-of-mouth campaign, offering a free Santa Fe Burrito or Bowl to anyone who emails “$1 off” coupons to three or more friends.

Taco John’s operates and franchises over 400 quick-service restaurants in 25 states. Independently owned and operated, the business opened its first restaurant in 1969.
