Tahoe Joe’s Famous Steakhouse, a popular polished casual dining restaurant from the Northern and Central Valley of California known for its scratch-made creations and steaks, chops, seafood and ribs grilled over an authentic almond wood fire, is expanding south into San Bernardino County with its first new restaurant opening in three years. The first Southern California restaurant opened in Chino, Calif. on Tuesday, July 1, 2014 at 3968 Grand Avenue in the Chino Spectrum Marketplace. The restaurant will be open weekdays for dinner starting at 4 p.m. and on the weekends starting at 12 p.m.
“Tahoe Joe’s has experienced much success in the Central Valley with our nine existing locations,” said David Glennon, Vice President for Tahoe Joe’s. “We are positioned for growth, and are excited to bring to Southern California our one of a kind scratch-made menu offerings and ‘Enlightened Hospitality’ that have made us a Northern and Central California favorite.”
Chino restaurant unveils new look
The Chino Tahoe Joe’s will unveil a modernized look that showcases the evolution of the brand. The Tahoe Joe’s décor replicates a first-rate ski lodge with warm colors, authentic log elements, and Lake Tahoe-inspired art. The Chino restaurant will also boast the look and feel of a ski lodge, but with a modern twist. The restaurant is expanding on the look of its predecessors by incorporating more metal and stone elements with weathered wood features and warm, glowing light fixtures. A four-sided, floor to ceiling, stacked stone fireplace surrounded by leather chairs is the centerpiece surrounded by art-like structures and murals of Lake Tahoe. And a large, unique patio with two fire elements will help round out the upscale ski lodge theme.
“The expansion into Southern California was an opportune time to take a more modern interpretation of Lake Tahoe and bring it to Chino,” said Glennon. “We strive to create an experience that allows our guests to relax and escape in this new environment we have designed for our Chino location- pair that with delivering on our promise of ‘Enlightened Hospitality,’ and we hope to create memorable experiences and many new ‘friends of Joe!’”
Great tasting food paired with exceptional hospitality
The Chino Tahoe Joe’s will feature the brand’s current menu featuring scratch-made entrees prepared with the finest quality ingredients. Known for great tasting steaks, Tahoe Joe’s serves thick cuts of hand sliced aged beef that are grilled over an authentic almond wood fire. One of the most popular steaks is the
Joe’s Steak, which is roasted for 19 hours before it is grilled over an open flame. Other signature menu items include the Railroad Camp Shrimp, an appetizer featuring hand-battered, tempura style shrimp that are tossed with a sweet and spicy garlic-soy sauce, then piled high over shredded lettuce that is tossed with crisp wontons, peanuts and a cucumber vinaigrette. The scratch-made Nevada Cheesecake tops the list of the most craveable desserts and features a tall serving of creamy cheesecake that sits on a thick graham cracker crust topped with freshly whipped cream. The menu is also highlighted with fresh seafood options, wood-grilled chicken, baby back ribs, pasta, fresh salads, burgers, scratch-made soups, and hearty sandwiches.
The Chino Tahoe Joe’s will also feature a full bar with a signature drink menu with more than 30 handcrafted drinks, 20 wines by the glass, and 12 beers on draft. Happy hour will be available daily from 4 to 6 p.m. and 9 p.m. to close.
Tahoe Joe’s pairs its great tasting menu offerings with exceptional service referred to as “Enlightened Hospitality.” The “Enlightened Hospitality” principle is derived from the inspiration for the brand, which is Tahoe Joe – a legendary chef, who resided in the Lake Tahoe region during the 1870s and was known for the extensive care he dedicated to preparing his meals and treating each guest as a close friend.
“Our brand’s culture is focused on maintaining the standards of Chef Tahoe Joe,” said Glennon. “Our ability to consistently deliver on quality food and our “Enlightened Hospitality” are what drives guests to return for more. Our team in Chino will be committed to the same long-standing values.”
The first Tahoe Joe’s Famous Steakhouse opened in West Fresno, Calif. in 1996.
