Tarpy’s Roadhouse Celebrates National Salad Month With Five Weeks Of Special Salads

Tarpy’s Roadhouse, located on Hwy 68 at Canyon Del Rey, Celebrates National Salad Month in May with five weeks of special salads created by Executive Chef Michael Kimmel. Tarpy’s and Chef Kimmel have always taken advantage of the incredible produce in the nearby Salinas Valley.

Week 1, May 1 – 6:

Chef’s Salad with Butter Lettuce, Roasted Turkey Breast, Brown Sugar Ham, Jack and Cheddar Cheeses, Applewood Smoked Bacon, Hard Boiled Egg, Grape Tomatoes, Avocado in a Creamy Ranch Dressing with Dry Roasted Sunflower Seeds.

May 7, – 13: (Mother’s Day Week)

Grilled Romaine Hearts and Red Onions with Shrimp Scampi tossed in a Lemon-Garlic-White Wine Reduction sprinkled with Asiago Cheese & Cherry Tomatoes

Week 3, May 14 – 20

Grilled & Sliced Angus Sirloin Steak over Baby Spinach with Grilled Red Onions, Dried Cranberries, Cherry Tomatoes and Gorgonzola Cheese in a Red Wine-Dijon Vinaigrette topped with Candied Walnuts.

Week 4, May 21- 27

Wood-Fired, Herb-Crusted Salmon Medallions on Wild & Brown Rice Salad with Michigan-Dried Cherries, Pineapple and Strawberries over Romaine Heartsin a Citrus Vinaigrette.

Week 5 May 28 – June 3

Savory Pork Carnitas Tinga over Boston Lettuce & Mixed Greens, Cherry Tomato Salsa, Garlic Black Beans, Chili -Scented Sweet Corn and Grilled Red Onions in a Lime-Chipotle Vinaigrette topped with Queso Fresco.
