The Huddle probably doesn’t sound like a name for a new sushi roll, but in this case, it definitely fits! Why? The Cowfish and their sister concept eeZ have partnered with a local nonprofit, Dream On 3, whose business model happens to be a huddle. The group brings healthcare, sports, business and education communities together with Dream Recipients, ages 5-21 years old, who are living with a life altering condition to make their sports dreams a reality.

Created by longtime Master Sushi Chef Rifali Almunir, who oversees the sushi program for all three restaurants, the Huddle Roll features tuna, kani salad, English cucumber and tempura flakes inside. Tuna, avocado and ebi shrimp are on the outside, topped with wasabi mayo and multicolored tobiko, in keeping with Dream On 3’s colorful logo.

During September and October, $5 from each $23 Huddle Roll sold at The Cowfish in Charlotte and Raleigh and eeZ in Huntersville will go directly to Dream On 3 to help bring customized experiences with a favorite athlete, team or sporting event to the charity’s Dream Recipients.

According to owner Alan Springate, “Working with Dream On 3 was an easy choice. Not only are they doing amazing things for their dream kids, we love that they are local and literally right down the road from our restaurants in the Charlotte market. We look forward to helping these kids and young adults have their sports dreams come true and hope to meet a dream recipient along the way.”

Dream On 3 uses the unifying principles of sports and the power of teamwork to bring hope, love and joy to their dreamers. Dream Experiences are made possible through the hard work and dedication of individuals and communities coming together for a common goal. Hence, the name of the roll – the huddle!
