Upscale neighborhood restaurant and bar scheduled to open late June
Another concept from two of Texas’ most innovative restaurateurs has broken ground at CITYCENTRE Houston in anticipation of a late June opening.
The General Public is a spirited neighborhood restaurant and bar committed to wholesome food and warm hospitality. Conceived by Joshua Sepkowitz and Kyle Noonan, co-owners of FreeRange Concepts, The General Public will serve lunch and supper both inside and on its air-conditioned patio.
Featuring a signature horseshoe-shaped bar tended by expert cocktail crafters, drink selections will include such enticing indulgences as Dr. Funk, the Four Thieves, the Caipirinha and the Rusky Rose.
“CITYCENTRE is the ideal location for a concept like The General Public,” said Noonan. “Having grown up in Houston and studied at the feet of the Pappas family, I am convinced that Houstonians will appreciate the eclectic ambiance and upscale food and cocktails we’ll offer. It’s hard to be truly distinctive these days, but we think The General Public qualifies.”
Sepkowitz said the partners chose to locate at CITYCENTRE due to the strong daytime population as well as its location within a 20-minute drive of more than two million residents. FreeRange Concepts announced last month that Bowl & Barrel, their boutique bowling concept, had broken ground at the same location.
“Having done our research on the area for Bowl & Barrel, we agreed that The General Public would be another excellent addition to CITYCENTRE,” said Sepkowitz. “We’re very pleased to be investing in this impressive development and we’re looking forward to assembling an extraordinary team to provide outstanding service and memorable experiences to the people of Houston.”
This will be The General Public’s second location, following its debut in The Rim in San Antonio in July 2015. It will be located at 797 Sorella Ct., Suite 118, in the CITYCENTRE development on Houston’s west side.
