The Greene Turtle Sports Bar & Grille today announced plans to offer veterans and active members of the military free meals in conjunction with Veteran’s Day. This Sunday, November 11, from 4 – 9 p.m., all of the casual dining restaurant/sports bar chains’ locations across Maryland, Delaware, Virginia and Washington, D.C., will offer items from The Greene Turtle’s standard menu free to guests dining on-site who present valid proof of military service at the time they order.
All 34 of The Greene Turtle’s locations will offer a special menu for military guests on Sunday. Eleven items have been hand-picked for the limited-time offer, including The Greene Turtle’s Apple Pecan Salad, Black & Bleu Burger, All-American Burger, Bacon Cheeseburger, Philly Cheesesteak, Chicken Cheesesteak, Pulled Pork Sandwich, Eastern Shore Mac & Cheese, Chicken Strip Basket, Fish ‘n’ Chips, and Chili. Free upgrades from potato chips to fries for all burger or sandwich orders will also be offered.
While this is the first time the company is making such an offer, The Greene Turtle has a long tradition of honoring and supporting the military, from its fundraising efforts and contributions to the USO to its work with the Wounded Warriors program, to efforts on behalf of local organizations with military ties through its “Funds for Friends” program, which to date has provided nearly $750,000 to a wide range of military and civilian organizations in communities that The Greene Turtle serves.
“Everyone from our corporate staff to our restaurant staff to our franchisees has eagerly embraced this program,” notes Bob Barry, CEO of The Greene Turtle. “We all want to give something back to those who serve or have served our country to protect our freedom, and while we do many things throughout the year to honor the military, we are proud to be doing our part to participate in this national day of recognition.”
