The Melting Pot Kicks Off Annual Thanks and Giving Campaign to Support St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital

Leading fondue restaurant invites guests to ‘Donate and Dine’ from October 15 – December 24

The Melting Pot Kicks Off Annual Thanks and Giving Campaign to Support St. Jude Children's Research HospitalThe Melting Pot Restaurants, Inc., the world’s premier fondue restaurant and a leading polished casual dining franchise, announced today it is once again participating in the annual St. Jude Thanks and Giving campaign in support of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Since establishing the partnership in 2003, The Melting Pot has raised nearly $10 million for St. Jude.

From Oct. 15 – Dec. 24, The Melting Pot is encouraging guests to join its effort in raising funds for St. Jude, and providing them with a Donate and Dine card for every donation of $10 throughout the Thanks and Giving campaign period. The Donate and Dine card gives guests $20 off a future purchase of $50 or more, which can be redeemed between Jan. 2 – Aug. 31, 2017. Those who are unable to make it into a restaurant but want to donate will be able to do so at www.meltingpot.com, and will be mailed a Donate and Dine card.

“The Melting Pot has always been, and continues to be, a place where family and friends gather together for a truly exceptional experience that goes well beyond the food,” said Bob Johnston, CEO of Front Burner, restaurant management company for The Melting Pot Restaurants, Inc. “We’ve cultivated a family-oriented culture and environment made up of committed franchisees, passionate team members and loyal guests who band together year after year to help save children’s lives through their support for St. Jude. Donations made through The Melting Pot restaurants nationwide go toward St. Jude’s mission to advance cures, and means of prevention, for pediatric catastrophic diseases through research and treatment, and we look forward to continuing to help the cause for many years to come.”

Treatments invented at St. Jude have helped push the overall childhood cancer survival rate from 20 percent to more than 80 percent since it opened more than 50 years ago, and they won’t stop until no child dies from cancer. The hospital freely shares the breakthroughs it makes, so every child saved at St. Jude means doctors and scientists worldwide can use that knowledge to save thousands more children.

Last year, The Melting Pot raised nearly $600,000 during the Thanks and Giving campaign, and was honored with a Silver Award in the Enduring Impact category of the inaugural Franchising Gives Back Awards program. The International Franchise Association (IFA) award recognized The Melting Pot for its longstanding commitment to the community through its ongoing partnership with St. Jude and the St. Jude Thanks and Giving campaign. The Franchising Gives Back Awards program recognizes the best, most innovative community leaders and charitable programs nationwide.

The St. Jude Thanks and Giving campaign is an unprecedented union of celebrities, media and more than 70 of the nation’s leading brands and companies that ask consumers to donate while they shop during the holiday season to help St. Jude advance research and treatment of childhood cancer and other life-threatening diseases. These funds are critical given that no family ever receives a bill from St. Jude for treatment, travel, housing or food – because all a family should worry about is helping their child live.
