The Pizza Press Announces Build Out of First Franchise RestaurantThe Pizza Press, a fast casual, build-your-own pizza restaurant, announces the breaking ground of its first franchise location, set to open fall 2015. The pizzeria, which will be laid out similarly to the original two Pizza Press locations, is located at 2720 E Nutwood Ave. Suite D in Fullerton, California.

Across the street from California State University, Fullerton’s Mihaylo business department, The Pizza Press’ first franchised location will be owned and operated by Danny Hon. Hon is currently a paper goods vendor of The Pizza Press, which is how he was introduced to the restaurant and owner Dara Maleki.

“It was an easy choice when deciding who to franchise with; the service, quality, and vision that Dara and The Pizza Press bring to the table is unparalleled to any other build-your-own pizza concept,” says Hon. “A Fullerton native, I’m really excited to have the opportunity to bring The Pizza Press superior quality and inviting environment to my community.”

The Pizza Press launched its franchise program in fall 2014, and Hon is its first signed franchisee. With two company-owned locations, one in Anaheim, Calif. and one in Orange, Calif., The Pizza Press is currently looking at locations in Arizona and Nevada for the next company-owned store.

“Having that pre-existing vendor relationship with Danny makes it all the more special and rewarding to have him sign on as our first franchisee,” says The Pizza Press founder Dara Maleki. “It’s not just about building a nationwide brand, but having partners like Danny who really believe in the mission of The Pizza Press and the passion behind it.”

The restaurant will have a similar open layout as the company-owned locations and offer wireless Internet to cater to local students.

The Fullerton store is just one franchise location that is set to open in 2015. By the end of the year, The Pizza Press is projected to have 15 franchises either signed on or opened. The company projects an additional 15-20 franchisees in 2016, resulting in 50-75 units as part of multi-unit packages.

The Pizza Press invites guests to create their own ‘newsworthy’ pizzas through the restaurants’ assembly-style line and offers specialty items like salads and ice cream sandwiches. The Pizza Press also features beers from local breweries, creating a community feel that founder Dara Maleki wants to incorporate in all future franchise locations.
