David Lopez and Scott Mortier Form The Franchise Whales to Help New, Emerging and Existing Franchises Develop the Right Systems, Generate Franchise Leads and Close Deals.
With a combined 35-plus years’ experience in franchising, David Lopez and Scott Mortier have launched a franchise incubator to help new, emerging and existing franchises strengthen various areas of their businesses.
Called The Franchise Whales, the franchise incubator supports independent businesses interested in developing a franchise model, emerging franchisors who want to propel their business forward and established franchisors looking to strengthen their existing systems. Areas of expertise include strategic planning, lead generation, marketing, management and franchise development. The business partners are also interested in making equity investments into the incubator companies as the working relationships develop.
“We know franchising inside and out and what it takes to push a brand to the next level,” Mortier said. “Both David and I have a track record of success with various franchises and know the right strategies that should be implemented to nurture and drive growth. This includes developing businesses into franchises and setting the right processes in place to generate several franchise leads each month and close them.”
Throughout their careers, Lopez and Mortier have sold more than 1,000 franchises. Lopez is a young, serial entrepreneur who entered the franchise scene at a young age when he converted his independent quick-service restaurant, Froots, into a franchise. He has since launched other franchise concepts, such as Dental Fix Rx – a mobile dental equipment repair service franchise that has quickly grown to more than 250 franchises nationwide under his leadership. A true visionary and a partner in more than 45 companies, his forward-thinking strategic direction has helped several companies improve efficiencies, drive cash flow and expand their reach. Mortier has a track record of success in generating franchise sales both nationally and internationally. He began his career as a multi-unit owner and franchise sales executive for the Quizno’s Sub franchise and subsequently held an executive sales position at 123 Fit Services and Brand Name Franchising, LLC. Mortier currently serves as the Executive Vice President of Business Development for Dental Fix Rx, as well as Conversion Whale, Transition Whale, Froots, Tikiz Shaved Ice & Ice Cream, Gyroville and Dr. G’s Weight Loss & Wellness.
The first Franchise Whales client is Miami Grill, a subsidiary of Miami Subs Capital Partners 1, Inc. which has around 40 locations throughout the United States and internationally, as well as more than 100 under development. Lopez and Mortier will play an integral role in the brand’s continued franchise expansion as the company seeks area developers in every U.S. state.
“Our brand is one of the hottest restaurant chains in the fast casual sector, and as we continue to pursue further franchise growth, David and Scott’s guidance will be a tremendous asset to our team,” said Richard Chwatt, Chief Executive Officer/Director of Miami Grill. “Partnering with The Franchise Whales allows us to more effectively extend our brand across the nation.”
