Urban Table Works with Chickens and Angels

Urban Table, Prairie Village’s neighborhood café and restaurant, is always working to improve community involvement, customer service, and menu offerings. This back-to-school season, they have been very busy doing just that, and in the process they’ve been working with chickens and angels, and collecting local recognition.

In the kitchen, Executive Chef Lauren Martin has been perfecting her fried chicken recipe. Starting on Sunday, September 2nd, just in time for back-to-school convenience, she will unveil her recipe when Urban Table offers buckets of fried chicken. The Sunday night special “Chickie Sundays” will be available for dine-in only from 5pm to 9pm, and will include 10 pieces of mixed white and dark meat with mashed potatoes, coleslaw, and cheddar & bacon biscuits, all for just $29.95. In-house diners will also have the option of adding house salads at $2.00 per person. For those who prefer all white meat, accommodations can be made with a 24-hour advance reservation. Get your chicken on this fall, and save some time in the kitchen on Sunday nights.

Urban Table also found the time to polish their halos recently when they sent their “Lunch Angels” out on August 3rd to deliver mid-day meals to Seaboard Corporation employees who were working on “A Brush with Kindness”, rehabilitating homes for Heartland Habitat for Humanity (HHFH). The hard working Seaboard employees got the chance to help out HHFH, enjoy Urban Table’s delicious lunchtime fare and experience the catering department’s best. Catering is always available from Urban Table. Just call 913-948-6900 for more information and to place an order, or visit www.urbantablekc.com/catering.php to view the catering menu.

Finally, Urban Table was recently recognized by 435 South magazine readers and received the magazine’s Best New Restaurant award. Urban Table would like to thank readers of 435 South  showing their support and allowing them this honor and recognition.
