This Veterans Day, Friday, November 11, all Texas Land & Cattle and Lone Star Steakhouse locations across the country will donate 10% of the day’s proceeds to Snowball Express, an organization dedicated to serving the children of our fallen military heroes.
Since 2006, the mission of Snowball Express has been to provide hope and new happy memories to the children of our military members who have died on active duty since 9/11. They bring children together from all over the world for a four-day experience filled with fun activities, such as sporting events, dances, amusement parks and more.
Participating in Snowball Express allows children that have lost so much to feel special, and it gives them the opportunity to share their feelings about losing their parent with others who have experienced similar loss.

On November 11th, we encourage families to gather together at a Texas Land & Cattle or Lone Star Steakhouse, enjoy a great meal together, while remembering and honoring military families who have made tremendous sacrifices for all of us.”
Often times children of the fallen are reserved, withdrawn or unwilling to talk about their loss. Snowball Express helps them cope with these feelings in a fun environment, while at the same time remembering and honoring their lost parent. Children who attend the annual event walk away knowing they are not alone, and many return year after year to reunite with the friends they made through Snowball Express.
“When we were first introduced to Snowball Express I knew it was an organization we wanted to be involved with,” said Tim Dungan, CEO Day Star Restaurant Group, parent company of Texas Land & Cattle and Lone Star Steakhouse. “We want this to be the beginning of a long relationship with them and this is just the first step.”
