Via 313 Holds Grand Opening at Culebra CommonsRev up your engines Culebra Commons, because a taste of the Motor City is coming in hot! Via 313 Pizzeria has opened its doors, marking the second location in San Antonio for the popular and fast-growing concept.

To celebrate the grand opening, Via 313’s team hosted a ribbon cutting ceremony with the San Antonio Chamber of Commerce on Jan. 9. In partnership with the Ronald McDonald House Charities of San Antonio, 25% of all sales on opening day were donated to the charity.

Located at 7010 W. Loop 1604 North, right by Culebra Creek Park, the new Via 313 will serve its award-winning pizza Monday through Thursday from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, and 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Sunday. Named one of the “Top 5 Pizzas in America” by Food Network, Via 313 has quickly become a fan-favorite in Texas, with this latest opening marking the Austin-born concept’s eighth location in the Lone Star State and the 13th location systemwide.

“After having so much success with our first restaurant in San Antonio, it only made sense to bring the community more of our Genuine Detroit-Style Pizza,” said Via 313 Co-Founder Brandon Hunt. “This new location is in a perfect spot for members of the local community to enjoy our famous square pizzas, prepared fresh daily using only the finest ingredients and classic baking techniques. We’re excited to continue to serve the Alamo City.”

Via 313 exists so more people around the country can enjoy the pizza that’s beloved in Detroit. The pizzas are called square, but they’re actually rectangle and baked in metal trays, just like the ones used on the automotive assembly lines at the Big Three. But instead of being filled with metal parts, Via 313’s trays are filled with the finest pizza ingredients it can source. In addition, Via 313 offers gluten-free and dairy-free options. Via 313: Built right, to the last bite.

Before Detroit-style pizza became a hit outside of the Motor City, trailblazers Brandon and Zane Hunt decided to bring their hometown pizza to Austin, Texas. Since 2011, they’ve built an Austin icon that locals and tourists flock to for genuine Detroit-style pizza. Via 313 currently operates 13 full-service restaurants and two permanently placed trailers throughout Texas and the Salt Lake City area, with several more locations in the pipeline. Via 313 was dubbed “one of the very best pizzas” by Food and Wine Magazine, named “Independent Pizzeria of the Year” by Pizza Today and recognized as one of the “Top 10 Pizzas in America” by Food Network.
