U.S. Congressman Scott Rigell and Huddle House CEO Michael Abt joined civic and business leaders for ribbon cutting ceremony
A guest list filled with VIPs was on hand when the new Huddle House Restaurant at 1908 Landstown Centre Way celebrated its Grand Opening with a ribbon-cutting ceremony on October 6th. Helping franchisee David Worthley commemorate the opening of the first Virginia Beach Huddle House was U.S. Congressman Scott Rigell and Huddle House CEO Michael Abt along with local civic and business leaders including members of the Hampton Roads Chamber of Commerce.
Whether it’s to try the made-to-order Big House Breakfasts, the signature HuddleBurger for lunch, the Country Fried Steak for dinner, or just a cup of coffee with friends, area residents and tourists have already made the iconic family restaurant known for serving “Any Meal. Any Time”. a local gathering place.
“The Virginia Beach community has really embraced our Southern style Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner menu as well as our hospitality,” said Worthley, who operates the new restaurant with his daughter and son-in-law Megan and Michael Daubert. “We have already become a favorite place to meet for all ages and all demographics.”
Worthley, formerly an FBI Special Agent and president of a technology company, said he wants the new restaurant to play an important role in the community and plans a number of programs designed to support local organizations.
“We see our Huddle House as a place the community can come together for all types of events,” he said. “From hosting fundraisers for the high schools, to BINGO morning events for our seniors, to special events for other local groups, our Huddle House is really going to be a fun place to be.”
The Virginia Beach Huddle House restaurant reflects the 51-year-old chain’s new look and branding. The new location seats up to 90 guests and is open Sunday – Thursday from 6 a.m. to Midnight, and 24-hours Friday – Saturday.
“Huddle House is thriving in Virginia and we’re excited to share our family friendly experience with residents of Virginia Beach,” Abt said. “As we continue to expand our presence across the country, we recognize that it is great entrepreneurs like David and his family with a passion for people and a passion for food that make our restaurants so successful.”
Huddle House now has more than 400 restaurants open or under development nationwide and is on track to open more than 100 new restaurants over the next three years. The growth will be accomplished primarily through franchising by both single-unit and multi-unit investors in a range of market sizes, including urban areas, small towns, travel centers and convenience sites.
The core values on which Huddle House was founded – serving quality food in a warm, friendly environment that brings the community together – remain intact today.
