In celebration of its 25th anniversary, Wahoo’s Fish Taco, a community mainstay and worldwide pop culture phenomenon since 1988, introduces an addition to their menu. The new “Citrus Slaw Taco” offers a choice of fillings (chicken breast, carnitas, fish or carne asada) with the slaw ingredients of cabbage, cilantro, onions and carrots tossed in lime juice and olive oil. The taco will be available at all stores in the continental United States starting May 25. As a limited time offer, purchase a Citrus Slaw Taco with any combo plate and receive one free fountain drink on May 25 and 26.
“The Citrus Slaw Taco is a burst of citrusy zing mixed with our signature Wahoo’s flavor and will leave you wanting more,” said Wing Lam, co-founder of Wahoo’s. “Developed from a unique family recipe, this new menu item will be a hit with our customers.”
Inspired by Cindy Lee, co-founder Mingo Lee’s wife, the Citrus Slaw Taco blends perfectly with Wahoo’s eclectic Mexican/Brazilian/Asian menu delivered with a Hawaiian North Shore vibe. For the past 25 years, Wahoo’s signature fish taco, which hasn’t changed since day one, has become a favorite among the restaurant’s loyal customers — and a catalyst for the chain’s continued expansion. There are currently 67 locations throughout the nation including stores in California, Colorado, Texas and Hawaii — with the newest locations opened in New York, Nebraska and Nevada. In addition, there are 10 locations with full-service bars. Additional locations scheduled to open within this year include: Austin, Texas, Woodland Hills, Calif., and the restaurant’s first international store in Japan.
