To support its rapid expansion, Wingstop has formed advertising cooperatives in Phoenix, San Diego and Denver and named DB&M Media as agency of record for the newly created co-ops.
A Los Angeles-based marketing and media firm, DB&M Media will spearhead advertising efforts for Wingstop restaurants in Phoenix, San Diego and Denver, including television, online, social campaigns and sports sponsorships.
“The DB&M team is excited for the opportunity to create fresh, energetic campaigns for Phoenix, San Diego and Denver,” said Kim Barber, broadcast manager at DB&M, which also oversees advertising for Wingstop in Southern California and the Bay Area. “We look forward to positive growth in these developing Wingstop markets.”
The popular wing chain, with more than 515 locations open, has advertising co-ops in place in 16 markets, including Dallas-Fort Worth, San Antonio, Southern California, Houston, South Florida, Chicago, the Bay Area, Oklahoma City, Austin and Sacramento.
Wingstop currently has six franchised locations in San Diego, with plans to open a seventh next month. There are six restaurants in Phoenix, with another scheduled to open this summer, and 14 stores in Denver, with a 15th location opening next month.
“DB&M Media is a great partner, and we are thrilled to join forces with them,” said Andy Howard, Wingstop chief marketing officer. “More than 60 percent of our system are covered by co-ops and their local market support, coupled with a strong ad agency like DB&M, is an invaluable tool as we continue to expand our presence in these markets.”
In addition to traditional advertising mediums, DB&M will also explore opportunities with professional and college athletic sponsorships. Wingstop is currently the Official Wings of the Los Angeles Lakers, Los Angeles Dodgers, Sacramento Kings, Dallas Cowboys, and a Proud Sponsor of the Los Angeles Angels, as well as a sponsor of several college athletic programs.
With a sole focus on cooked-to-order chicken, the Wingstop menu features traditional and boneless wings, strips and Glider sandwiches all sauced and tossed in 10 original flavors and side dishes like fresh-cut, seasoned fries.
