Wingstop to Add Six New Chicagoland Restaurants

Just as football season kicks off, and Wingstop prepares to enter its busiest time of the year, the company has announced six new locations are expected to open in the Chicago area this fall.

Wingstop, which achieved same store sales increases of 13.3 percent in Chicago for the year-to-date, and total sales growth of 20.4 percent, is meeting guests’ demand for more locations with six new restaurants. The company also recently formed an advertising cooperative and named Prime Time Marketing (PTM) as its agency of record for the Chicago DMA, to support the expansion.

“Ten years after opening the first Wingstop here, Chicago is quickly becoming one of Wingstop’s fast-growing markets,” said Tom Schaffer, president of the Wingstop Chicago co-op and owner of two restaurants. “Hot wings are more popular than ever, and football season is the perfect time to introduce new fans to our wings.”

The six Wingstop locations scheduled to open this year include:

  • 3900 Harlem Avenue in Lyons, late-September
  • 47 West Division Street in Chicago, October
  • 15960 Harlem Avenue in Tinley Park, November
  • 50 N. Manheim Road in Hillside, November
  • 2507 W. Cermak Road in Chicago, mid-November
  • 17 W. Roosevelt Road, Oakbrook Terrace, December

With a sole focus on cooked-to-order chicken, the Wingstop menu features traditional and boneless wings, strips and Glider sandwiches – all sauced and tossed in 10 original flavors. Texas-based Wingstop was founded in 1994 and currently has more than 515 locations open nationwide and in Mexico and has experienced more than eight consecutive years of same store sales increases.
