Wingstop is adding new restaurants in Gainesville, Fla. The 570-unit chicken wing chain recently signed a development agreement for two new locations in the Gainesville area.
The new locations are thanks to Florida native and restaurant veteran, Stan Given, who has more than 20 years experience operating restaurant concepts in the area and also owns the Wingstop at 4310 Southwest 20th Avenue in Gainesville.
“I’m a huge wing fan and hands down, Wingstop has the best wings around,” Given said. “I wanted to introduce new fans in Gainesville to the concept. As a franchisee, the simplicity of the Wingstop menu and the emphasis on quality appealed to me. It’s also why guests keep coming back.”
Given currently owns a Heavenly Ham restaurant and a Flying Biscuit Café in Gainesville. Prior to that he operated four Moe’s Southwest Grills and spent more than 10 years on the corporate management team at PepsiCo for Taco Bell and KFC. Before embarking on his restaurant career, Given piloted attack helicopters in the Marine Corps and was awarded the Combat Action Ribbon and Air Medal for service in Beirut.
“With every concept I work with, it’s important to me that we focus on always providing the best product and service,” he said. “And with Wingstop, you’ve got the right systems in place to do that 100 percent of the time.”
With a sole focus on cooked-to-order chicken, the Wingstop menu features classic and boneless wings, chicken strips and Glider sandwiches – all sauced and tossed in 10 original flavors. Homemade side dishes include fresh-cut seasoned fries, made daily from Idaho potatoes, baked beans, coleslaw, potato salad, veggie sticks and house made ranch and bleu cheese dips.
“There’s no other concept like Wingstop in Gainesville,” added Given. “Our restaurant has a great following and I’m confident that wing and sports fans will continue lining up as we open new locations and bring the best, made-to-order wings to more fans in the area.”
